Frequently Asked Questions
Which course should a complete beginner start with?
We recommend “Foundations: Wheel & Handbuilding” for tool familiarity, centering, and clean joins. You will complete two finished pieces with guided feedback.
Do I need to own a wheel or kiln?
No. Our studio courses include equipment access and firing. At-home learners get rental guidance and firing drop-off options via partner studios.
What is the difference between a Workshop, Course, and Masterclass?
Workshops are focused single sessions. Courses run multiple weeks with projects and critique. Masterclasses are advanced intensives led by a master artist.
How are materials handled?
Tuition includes a starter clay allocation and essential tools. Additional clay and premium glazes can be purchased at the studio; we provide clear guidance on quantities.
Can I reschedule or make up a class?
Yes. With 24 hours’ notice, we offer a make-up slot within the same calendar month, subject to seat availability.
How does glazing work for beginners?
We demonstrate basic dipping and brushing, then introduce layering rules and test tiles. You’ll select a conservative palette to ensure refined results.
Is private coaching available?
Yes. Book bespoke sessions tailored to your technique or portfolio goals. See the catalog under Coaching.
What safety practices do you follow?
We enforce proper ventilation, wet cleanup to reduce dust, glove use for certain glazes, and clear kiln access rules. Ergonomics is coached in every wheel session.
